Background
Mr. Kula Chhatar ,W/o Fatu Chhatar age 65 years is residing at Sihini of Sinini G.P. of Titilagarh Block of Bolangir District. He is living in a Paka house with his only son . He is was Daily wage labour . Kula is getting Rs 500 old age pension and 5kgs rice from Odisha Government. Now a day’s his son nurturing the family. One year back he was affected with cataract. He was struggling for her daily activities. He was taking help from others.
Intervention by S.C.D
SCD is raising eye awareness in communities as well as to the community leaders. On dated 15/10/2020,ASHA karmi of Sihini G.P. referred Jaya Mahanada to base SCD Eye Hospital, Titilagarh. The ophthalmic technician detected cataract in both eyes and advise him for surgery. His pre-operative vision in right eye was: (6/60) and left eye (PL+PR) respectively. He got operated upon his Left eye on 16.10.2020 and on the next day of surgery his post-operative vision in her Left eye was 6/24. After seven days in the first follow up her vision was improved to 6/18. The surgery was done under BMZ scheme.
Life after Intervention by SCD
Kula was very much happy when his vision restored. Now he is doing his day to day activities independently and participated in family functions, social and cultural activities in the community.She is helping her family in daily home cores also helping in vegetable garden. She gave thanks to our hospital staffs.
