Background
Mr.DansaeMallik S/o ParameswarMallik, aged 58 years is a resident of Village Dumerpada of Kundabutula G.P. of Bolangir District. He nurtures his family by doing daily wage labour and obtains some paddy from his marginal land. In the meantime Dansae developed cataract in both eyes and was very much dependent upon others for his daily chores and it affects the economy of his family.
Intervention by S.C.D
On 24.11.2018 an eye screening camp was organised by S.C.D. Eye Hospital at Bangomunda Block. Danasae attended the camp and was selected for cataract surgery and brought to our base hospital. On 24.11.2018 his pre-operative vision in right eye was: (HM+ve) and left eye (HM+ve) respectively. He got operated upon his right eye on 25.11.2018 and on the next day of surgery his post-operative vision in his left eye was 6/24. After seven days in the first follow up his vision was improved to 6/12.
Life after Intervention by SCD
Danasae was very much happy when his vision restored. Now he is doing independently his day to day chore such as helping his family in income generation activities and participated in social and cultural activities etc. In the community. He gave thanks to our hospital staffs.
