Services Centre for the Disabled (SCD) has made significant contribution and immeasurable progress with mission to alleviate poor economic condition and give solace to the under privilege by providing viable enterprises and free health care services.
SCD was set up in 1985 with an objective to empowering the lives of persons with disabilities and down trodden. The Organisation‘s mission is to have a holistic approach to some of key developmental challenges areas of Health, Education and employment promotion. Since its inception by philanthropic efforts of the organisation has ushered is a vast change in the livelihood of about 20 lakhs denizens of KBK Districts and encompassing 3148 villages.
SCD collaborates with communities to identify their needs and involves them extensively in the decision process of transformational development.
The organisation has worked with some of the most vulnerable and marginalised communities in KBK districts of Odisha, contributing to their integration into the mainstream development process of the country.
SCD Eye Hospital was established in 1998. It is located in Balangir district of Titilagarh Sub-Division, is a Non- Profit Charitable Organisation, Providing high quality comprehensive eye care services at affordable cost to local as well as patients from neighbouring districts. In addition to base hospital, SCD has established eye care centre in other location to provide basic eye care facilities to the community. SCD currently has network of eye care centre at Kantabanji ,Balangir
SCD Eye Hospital building was constructed with the financial and technical supported from CBM. Initially, it was established to provide eye care services to the people of Balangir district only but in the pursuit of growth and expansion with the support from CBM, relentless efforts and commitment put in, by its staff members and voluntary cooperation from the local community, it enable the SCD to serve people belonging to other remote places beyond Balangir district.
